Bodylastics

Gym equipment that's light on the wallet and strong on results.

BACKGROUND

In a bag that probably weighs less than a purse, you could carry all the exercise equipment you need. Adding to that weight would be the money you would save on gym memberships and other home exercise equipment that's probably filling empty corners of your home.

Bodylastics is a new home gym product that conveniently weighs less than two pounds, and provides a system that works all of your key muscle groups (abs, legs, chest, arms and back).

Going up against long-time home gym standards Bowflex and Crossbow, Bodylastics claims to provide a better product because it does what the big machines say they do, but more conveniently and for less money.

What exactly is the Bodylastics? Using small, elastic tubing for frames and strong elastic bands, you'll use these to pull, stretch and bend your way to a better looking body. Using the tension of the bands in a variety of ways, you can accomplish the similar results as you would on free weights or other gym equipment.

There are two packages available from Bodylastics - Basic Tension and Max Tension. Each include all of the following, except the Max Tension includes a 20 pound elastic:

  • 5-6 pound elastic
  • 7.5-8.5 pound elastic
  • 10.5-12 pound elastic
  • 15-18 pound elastic
  • 2 foam handles
  • 2 ankle straps
  • 1 door anchor
  • 1 user manual
  • 1 travel bag

You can order both of these packages with or without a VHS tape or DVD.

PRO
  • 100 percent money-back guarantee
  • Product made in the U.S.
  • Equipment is light and easy to use
  • Exercise is smooth and flexible, doesn't jerk like big equipment
  • Burns fat quickly
  • Online and DVD video instruction
  • Affordable
  • Portable
CON
  • Allergy concern as it is made of latex
EXERCISE

You can experience a different kind of exercise with Bodylastics. It's more convenient and able to compete with some of the bigger names in home gym equipment. Bodylastics customizes workouts to suit a man or a woman.

You can use the guided instruction via online video demonstrations, or by ordering the VHS or DVDs.

EXPENSE

If the Bodylastics equipment really performs the way you want it to, then the system can be quite affordable and worth the money, especially when compared with other expensive home equipment and gym memberships.

The Bodylastics Basic Tension package costs $39.95; the Max Tension package costs $54.95. Add $10 to either package to include a VHS tape or DVD. Everything included in the packages can be purchased individually. Elastics run $12-$16 a piece and all other accessories average about $9 each, with VHS and DVDs about $20.

CONCLUSION

There's certainly nothing wrong with making exercise more convenient. Bodylastics weighs only about two pounds, so you can take it with you to work, while traveling or any other place that you feel comfortable stretching or that might keep you away from the gym. Gym memberships are not always affordable and schedules often conflict, and purchasing the equipment for your home can be a hefty investment. Bodylastics can provide the results you‘re looking for, with its affordable and successful exercise tools.

Is this sturdy enough to actually facilitate a workout?

Yes it works, I use it myself. I was recommended to try them from a friend who bought them.

They are so strong I doubt anybody can break them. My only worry is that the door will fly open (when using the door anchor) instead of the bands breaking :)
